Original Release Date indicates the first date on which the product – the same specific collection of tracks - was or will be released in any form.
A new digital release of a product that was only previously released in a physical format would require an Original Release Date that differs from the Release Date. For example, The Beatles’ White Album would require an Original Release Date in 1968.
If no Original Release Date is provided, it is generally assumed that the Release Date indicates the first release of the product in any format. This is typically the case with completely new releases.
It is highly recommended that you enter the Original Release Date on every release, even if it is the same as the Release date. This makes it clear to Ingrooves and the music services that there was in fact no earlier release of the product.
